FAQ
Short answers to common questions about the game, the match and the builds.
What is WARGUL?◇
A real-time competitive 3D arena: heroes summoned by ancient gods fight on a ruined floating colosseum. MOBA controls and in-match progression, but no lanes, creeps or towers: matches are won on points.
What formats are there?◇
Duel 1v1, teams 2v2 and 3v3, and free-for-all for 3–6 players. Any empty seat is filled by a bot.
How do you win?◇
The host picks a 10- or 15-minute timer. When it runs out, the higher score wins. Points come from hero kills, the centre's core, the titan, enemy guards, shard sets, hunts and Wargul's events.
How do I get the game?◇
The game is in pre-alpha and free. macOS and Windows builds are posted on the Play page; later a launcher will keep the game updated by itself.
What are the system requirements?◇
Godot 4.6, the Forward+ renderer with MetalFX / FSR. Tested on Apple Silicon Macs; Windows quality and performance are still being confirmed. The settings have resolution presets for weak and strong machines.
How do levels and talents work?◇
Levels 1–12 within a match. Q is open at once, W at 2, E at 3, the ultimate R at 4. Levels 5–12 give 8 points for a three-branch tree. XP is shared by the real participants of an event. A move to 15 levels with ability upgrades is in the works.
What are Rage and F?◇
Rage builds from health actually lost, from 0 to 100. F is each hero's single Rage ability: Farax's shield, the Egyptian's heavy strike, Lukrena's and Oza's heals. It spends the full bar.
What do the core and relays do?◇
At 2:30 three relays open, at 2:52 the core at the centre. Stand within 5.5 m while it is extracted: the more relays you hold, the faster (12 → 2 s). Extraction is +2 points, delivery to your relay within 25 s is +1 more. Relays do not shoot.
What are shards for?◇
They appear at random spots and are picked up by touch: +10 ESS and 60 XP. Collect a set (4–6 by format) and offer it at the altar by the centre in 2 s for +1 point. If the carrier dies, the bundle drops for 30 s.
What are hunts?◇
From 0:30 Wargul names a target among the living creatures, at most once per 90 s. The target shows on the minimap. Every third hunt a side completes gives a point (every second in FFA).
Who is the titan?◇
Wargul's Demon: one per match, no earlier than 4:30, 3000 HP. The finishing blow gives +2 points, and the Titan's Heart gives +10% damage until death.
What are Wargul's events?◇
Between cores Wargul runs two events: “Look over here” (capture the marked relay for a point and 60 XP) and “A new pawn” (break a 1000 HP puppet for a point, 60 XP and 40 ESS).
What are flasks?◇
A reward from a cache. Break a glowing cache with a basic attack and pick up the bubble: inside is either a permanent boon or a flask. A life flask heals 25% of maximum HP, an essence flask gives 20–40 ESS. A hero carries at most two, in the S and D cells right of the panel, and drinks them with the S and D keys. A flask cannot be drunk with full health or essence.
What happens if I disconnect?◇
Your seat waits 3 minutes; the client reconnects by itself, and after a restart the main menu has “Return to match”. Level and talents are kept.
Are the bots smart?◇
Bots plan from the same view a human gets: they do not see through fog or hidden enemy traps. They farm, go for the core, arm plates and buy talents. Improving them is on the roadmap.
Is the game free?◇
Yes, while it is in pre-alpha. The future model will be announced separately.
How do I give feedback?◇
Through the Community page or straight from the game: the match log is in the logs folder. We read everything.
